The irish singer & songwriter Neil Hannon who has been performing under the alas "The Divine Comedy" for two decades is actually one of my all-time-favourite artists.
He isn't really known in big scales outside of the UK- undeservedly,
as his lyrics, compositions, arrangements and performances are of such a constant high quality looking for its equal.
This is one of his classic hyms, which he barely leaves out in his live sets. I used to play it for years already and I still didn't stop loving this brilliant song which celebrates our existence, even if it always stands in the shadow of our own mortality.
"and when we die,
will we be that disappointed or sad?
if heaven does not exist,
what will we have missed?
this life's the best we've ever had."
